The Mid-Atlantic Summer Collegiate Open

The Collegiate Players Tour is proud to announce our return to the Mid-Atlantic area. Many thanks go out to Servpro® of Maryland, Servpro® of Washington, DC and Servpro® of Nova (Northern Virginia) who will be hosting this years event. The CPT has not been in the Mid-Atlantic area for many years and the last time we were there was in Pennsylvania in 2012. The CPT has never played an event in Delaware, West Virginia, New Jersey and Virginia and this summer we have a very special reason to return to the Mid-Atlantic area. After many years of being sponsored by State Farm Insurance throughout the country, we have the good fortune to be associated locally with Servpro®. This event is part of a nationwide tour of 10 events that culminate in a championship tournament.

If you are not familiar with the CPT, we’ve been in existence since the summer of 1994. The CPT was created to provide inexpensive, accessible, summer golf competition for college men and women ages 17 to 24. The tour is played from New England to Florida, Minneapolis to Houston and from California to Oregon. In the last 23 years we have had over 10,000 college golfers play in our summer events. The notable PGA and LPGA tour players Bo Van Pelt, Ben Curtis, John Rollins, Scott Piercy, Colt Knost and Stacy Lewis have all participated in CPT tournaments. An additional benefit from the tournament has been the donations from the proceeds of events to local charities totaling over $2.45 million. The CPT is sanctioned by both the NCAA men and women’s Golf Coaches Association as well as the USGA.

How it Works

Each group will be assigned a collegiate player for Monday’s tournament. Your group will play a scramble format and the collegiate player will play as the captain of the team. Invitations have been sent to 220 collegiate golf coaches in the Mid-Atlantic area and we’re receiving collegiate player commitments to play on a daily basis. You will find how you, your staff, your customers and business associates can contribute to this worthy cause as well as enjoy a day of fellowship through golf in a tournament environment. Here’s how you can participate in while contributing to this worthy cause.

Schedule of events

Pyramid of Beer

We will be raffling off a “PYRAMID OF BEER” to one lucky person. Each player will bring one six-pack of their favorite beer which will become the building blocks of a pyramid of beer awarded to the one lucky ticket holder at the end of the tournament.
